Kampi Kampi Serengeti

Set out on the plains of the Lamai Wedge to the north of the river in the Serengeti Mara area of northern Tanzania, Kampi Kampi is a medium specification mobile tented facility, with guest accommodation in 8 tents and providing access to good range of safari areas. This camp closed down in 2016.

Kampi Kampi Serengeti is situated in Serengeti National Park. , Tanzania. The camp offers traditional safari experience and wildlife viewing.

The camp provides a upper-mid level of service and consists of 6 safari tents well spaced out in order to grant an adequate level of privacy.

Each tent has a double bed or two twin beds, en suite bathroom with flush loo and running water in basin while hot water for the shower is supplied morning and evening at the time agreed with the camp staff.

Electricity is supplied by a silenced generator which is tucked away to ensure that there is no noise pollution. Mobiles and video devices can be charged directly in tent where international adapters are available.

The camp is complemented by the unfailing campfire and by two central tents hosting respectively the dining table and the lounge tent which includes a small library and the bar and by the campfire.

Meals can also be served privately under the starry sky. Early morning coffee and tea are served on the private tent verandas.

If we only consider the tents furnishing then we could say that Kampi Kampi is a upper-mid specification tented camp but the service delivered is such that it may instead be rated as a high standard one.

Note: in case of heavy rains it might be impossible to cross the bridge over the Mara River. The camp can be reached from Kogatende airstrip through an alternative way which however can require from 2 up to 3 hours instead than just 30 minutes as usually needed passing by the bridge.

The rooms are fitted with a sitting area which is furnished with plush sofas. Each room features an ornate lampshade, a full length window, a worktable, a wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom.

Complimentary breakfast is served daily. Guests order a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the onsite bar.

The camp features a business centre. Laundry service is provided upon request. Onsite parking is available and the premises are guarded round the clock. The camp is in close proximity to Lamai Wedge and Mara River.
