Chaka Camp

Inspired by the sense of timelessness found in the bush (‘chaka’ in Swahili), Chaka Camp was designed as a camouflage to its serene surroundings.

The camp moves seasonally to stay near the Great Migration and therefore remains surrounded by abundant wildlife.

As our original and flagship camp, Chaka has learned from its surroundings and discovered a way to exist harmoniously within it. The camp moves seasonally to keep near the Great Migration and therefore remains surrounded by life.

Guests have the opportunity to safely enjoy watching their mammalian neighbours graze the grounds and trees wrapped around the tent’s boundaries.

From December to April, the camp is located in Ndutu, moving northward to Kogatende from May to December.

While its construction is mobile, Chaka offers modern comforts with luxurious accents. Both camps remain within a 30-minute drive of an airstrip.

From Ndutu to Kogatende, Chaka Camp is consistently positioned where the wild things are. We have carefully balanced the rawness of nature with the comforts of home, along with some unique luxuries.

While maintaining a high standard of boutique-luxury, our camp-style construction minimizes the space between human presence and the bush land – the tent walls are thin enough to let the night sounds in but thick enough to keep the wild things out.
